All roads lead to Morocco: a British teenager cuts her hair to get a chance to visit the Kingdom
There are some people who can do anything in order to visit Morocco. This is the case of Carla-May Redshaw, a 14 year old girl who cut her long hair to raise funds to finance a study trip to Morocco, reports the website Swindon Advertiser. Carla is a high school girl who lives in Wiltshire county in southwest England. her journey of two weeks in Morocco studies is expected in summer 2017, and is organized by World Challenge Expedition, a specialized network in school trips abroad. For her trip, the teenager and 12 of her comrades must have 1,750 pounds (over 22,000 Moroccan dirhams) and they hope to get this money without the help of their parents through independent donors on a crowd funding platform. The group of students accompanied by a teacher and an official of the World Challenge Expedition program alternate tasks like accounting, cooking, security guard or Transportation Coordinator to develop the concepts of teamwork and leadership. The young British found an astonishing idea to raise the funds. She held a ceremony of “Big Shave” at which she cut off 40 centimeters of her hair in front of her family and friends. The objective of this action is intended to make the buzz about her project to collect donations to fund her trip to Morocco.
