Heat wave in Morocco this week
A heat wave is expected this week in most of Morocco. Every caution should be taken when outside. This is especially true when fasting. Exposure to heat and sun should be limited.
This heat wave, marked by Chergui and maximum temperatures of 38-43 °, will affect the interior plains, the interior of Larache, Kenitra, Rabat and Safi, the Souss and the southern provinces, according to a special bulletin of the National Meteorology established Sunday at 12:00, adding that in the interior regions, the Southeast slopes and inside the West plains, a maximum temperatures would range betweeen 35 and 38 °.
This significant rise in temperatures gradually will begin Monday, June 20 and the maximum of this heat wave will be registered from next Wednesday, the National Meteorology adds.
Hydration should be the slogan of this period of Ramadan. Upon breaking the fast, users must drink large quantities. Try to also drink water throughout the evening. Do not wait until before dusk to drink water again. Because if you do that, you will overwhelm your body, which in turn will simply expel the excess water. Drink water throughout the evening.
Do not be a hero
This Ramadan is one of the longest months in 33 years. The day is very long, the temperature is very high. If you feel extreme thirst, and feel dizzy and may lose consciousness, drink water, orange juice or a candy. God does not want you to hurt yourself to perform fasting. If you have to travel, or feel sick, also do not fast. These are permissions given in Islam and should be used when in need. You are the only judge of your condition. Do not be a hero and hurt yourself, because that’s not the purpose of fasting.
